Physical exercise is an important non-pharmacological intervention to control blood pressure and reduce stroke risk. Objective: This study aimed to compare the effects of Bodyweight Training (BWT) and Interval Walking Training (IWT) on blood pressure reduction in pre-elderly individuals at risk of stroke. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a two-group pretest-posttest approach. Twenty-six participants were divided into two intervention groups consisting of 13 subjects in the BWT group and 13 subjects in the IWT group. Both interventions were conducted three times per week for four weeks. Blood pressure measurements were performed before and after the intervention. Data analysis used Wilcoxon Test, Paired Sample T-Test, and Independent T-Test. Results: The BWT group demonstrated a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure (p=0.021), while the IWT group also showed a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure (p=0.009). No significant reduction was found in diastolic blood pressure in either group (p>0.05). Comparison between groups revealed no significant difference in systolic (p=0.599) or diastolic blood pressure reduction (p=0.773). Conclusion: Bodyweight Training and Interval Walking Training were equally effective in reducing systolic blood pressure among pre-elderly individuals at risk of stroke and may be recommended as non-pharmacological interventions for stroke prevention.
2026-07-31T19:19:14+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://physiohealthjournal.org/jfki/article/view/513 PENGARUH INTERVENSI BAD RAGAZ RING METHOD TERHADAP FUNGSI KOGNITIF LANSIA DI RUKUN SENIOR LIVING SENTUL 2026-08-03T09:26:42+07:00 NUR ACHIRDA nurachirda80@gmail.com Andy Martahan nurachirda80@gmail.com Zahra Sativani nurachirda80@gmail.com Fatimah Fatimah nurachirda80@gmail.com
Latar belakang: Penuaan adalah tahap akhir dalam proses kehidupan yang membawa berbagai perubahan, termasuk fungsi kognitif pada manusia. Serum Iron (SI) and Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) are important indicators for assessing iron status in CKF patients undergoing hemodialysis. This study aims to analyze the correlation between SI and TIBC levels in CKF hemodialysis patients. Methods: Correlative analytical research with a secondary data approach from medical records of CKF patients undergoing hemodialysis at RSAU dr. Esnawan Antariksa during 2024. The sample consisted of 96 patients. Data analysis used the Spearman correlation test. Most patients were female (57.3%). The average age was 52.2 years. The average SI level was 77.4 μg/dL and TIBC 245.92 μg/dL. The normality test showed that the data was not normally distributed. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of gymnastics and exercise as a non-pharmacological intervention in reducing blood sugar levels among individuals at risk of stroke through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Methods: Guided by the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, a literature search (for the 2022–2026 period) was conducted across PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, PEDro, ProQuest, and Google Scholar databases. The included articles comprised randomized controlled trials (RCTs), quasi-experimental, and cohort studies. The quality of the articles was assessed using the PEDro Scale and the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Critical Appraisal Tool. Results: Various forms of gymnastics (such as aerobic, elderly, and diabetes gymnastics) were shown to significantly reduce fasting blood glucose, random blood glucose, and HbA1c levels. The most recommended training protocol is 3–5 times a week, for 30–60 minutes per session, over an 8–12 week period. Exercise also contributed to increased insulin sensitivity and aerobic capacity, while reducing other stroke risk factors like hypertension and obesity. Conclusion: Gymnastics is an effective non-pharmacological intervention for glycemic control and mitigating cardiovascular risk. Routine gymnastics and exercise are highly recommended as a primary strategy for stroke prevention.

2026-07-31T00:00:00+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement##
